Last Tuesday evening Silversea had the pleasure of hosting London press to a gala cocktail reception at Mosimann's, the renowned private dining club in London's Belgravia. The event showcased our partnership with Anton Mosimann.
Considered by many to be the world's first super-chef, his eponymous restaurant has catered to world leaders and royalty. Mosimann, a Swiss national who received the "Order of the British Empire" for his contribution to England's culinary industry, will host Silver Cloud's Caribbean Voyage 1101, 4 - 14 January 2011, Barbados to San Juan.
On board Silver Cloud, Chef Mosimann will share his philosophy of cuisine naturelle and creative expertise with mouth-watering specialities and a grand gourmet dinner featuring authentic Caribbean flavours.

Inspired by the far-flung adventures of Phileas Fogg in Jules Vernes' Around the World in Eighty Days, Brazilian TV presenter Álvaro Garnero recently embarked Silver Shadow for part of his own eighty-day worldwide trek. He set off from London on 27 August and will arrive back in London on 15 November, travelling solely on ships and trains -- no airplanes.
His adventures will be featured on the 50 por 1 series, scheduled to air next January on TV Record (Brazil's second-largest TV network), Record News, Record International and Europa News in over 100 countries. The popular Brazilian TV series features travel and leisure programming with a focus on luxurious, exotic and unique experiences.
We're delighted our beautiful Silver Shadow could be Mr Garnero's home upon the seas for a portion of his amazing odyssey, and wish him well on his continuing global journey.

The ballots are in, the votes have been tallied and Silversea has just been named "Star Luxury Cruise Company" for the fourth consecutive year! The award was announced at the 14th Travel Bulletin Star Awards ceremony held on 6 September 2010. Silversea was presented with the new-look crystal award by TV presenter Mark Durden-Smith at London's prestigious Landmark Hotel.
Launched in 1975, Travel Bulletin is a leading weekly magazine for UK travel agents. The winners of the Star Awards were chosen by travel agents, with the voting taking place throughout the month of May 2010. 25,000 voting forms were mailed to Travel Bulletin's travel agent readers and they were also invited to vote via email and online via the website, www.travelbulletin.co.uk.
These awards are considered among the most fair and independent in the industry as agents are given free rein to vote for whomever they prefer; they are asked to name one company that they view to be the very best in each category.
This is the fourth major travel award that our company has garnered in less than three weeks' time, and it is a tremendous honour for all of us at Silversea to receive such outstanding recognition.
