The votes are in! And we're thrilled to announce that the travel advisor members of luxury travel network Virtuoso have selected Silversea as the Best Small-Ship Cruise Line for 2010!

The award was presented on Thursday, 19 August, at the Gala Awards Dinner held during the 22nd annual Travel Mart Conference in Las Vegas. The event was a celebration of Virtuoso's global connections, and attendees were encouraged to be internationally inspired with their attire.

Tracy McSorley, Silversea's Director of National Accounts (North America), wore an elegant Indian sari as she accepted the award from Virtuoso's CEO, Matthew Upchurch, whose outfit paid tribute to the Mexican mariachi tradition. Upchurch was assisted by a Japanese kimono-attired Abby Hansen, daughter of Virtuoso EVP David Hansen.

All of us at Silversea are truly honoured to receive this recognition. Virtuoso advisors are luxury travel specialists who work diligently on behalf of their clients to find and recommend travel experiences of the highest calibre, and this prestigious endorsement lets us know that our efforts to deliver an extraordinary holiday are right on target.

The Virtuoso network comprises over 300 agencies with more than 6,000 luxury travel advisors in 22 countries in North and South America, the Caribbean, Australia and New Zealand.
